Mintex

In 1920 the brand name Mintex emerged from an employee suggestion scheme, but by then the Company had been supplying brake linings to the motor industry for many years. For example, in 1910 Mintex provided brake linings to Ford for the Model T.

Through the 1930s they supplied both brake and clutch linings and became involved in racing, including F1. Since then there have been many changes to the legislation involving brakes, the main one being the removal of asbestos.

It is gratifying that Mintex still manufactures brake pads for many of our classic cars and that they do this in England.
